SimplStorage is a secure file storage service operated by SimplStudios. Our platform allows users to upload, store, and share files with end-to-end encryption. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your data.
2. Encryption & Privacy
SimplStorage implements end-to-end encryption to protect your files. Here is how our encryption works:
AES-256 Encryption
All files are encrypted using AES-256, the same encryption standard used by governments and military organizations worldwide. Each file receives a unique encryption key.
Server-Side Encryption at Rest
Files stored in our database are encrypted at rest using TLS 1.3 for transit and AES-256 for storage. The database connection is secured with SSL certificates.
Zero-Knowledge Architecture
SimplStudios operates on a zero-knowledge principle. We cannot view, access, scan, or analyze the contents of your encrypted files. Your data is yours alone.
3. What This Means For You
We cannot view your files. Your content is encrypted in a way that prevents SimplStudios, its employees, or any third party from accessing or viewing your stored files.
Your data is yours. We do not scan, analyze, index, or process the contents of your files for any purpose, including advertising or data mining.
Content persistence guarantee. Whatever you upload to SimplStorage will remain securely stored and accessible only to you and those you explicitly share it with. Your files will stay on the platform as long as your account is active.
No content moderation of encrypted files. Because we cannot access the contents of your encrypted files, we do not and cannot perform content moderation on stored data.
Passwords are hashed using industry-standard bcrypt with a cost factor of 10. We never store passwords in plain text.
Each account receives a unique 13-word recovery passphrase at registration, which is also bcrypt-hashed in our database.
Session tokens use JWT (JSON Web Tokens) with HS256 signing, stored as HttpOnly secure cookies.
Password recovery is protected with IP-based rate limiting (10 attempts before a 30-minute block).

Individual file size limit of 500MB
Supported file types: videos, images, audio, documents, PDFs, ZIP archives, and more
6. Upgrade Plans
Premium upgrade plans with unlimited storage, larger file size limits, and additional features are coming soon. Free plan users will be notified when upgrade options become available.
7. File Sharing
SimplStorage provides three sharing modes:
Public: Anyone with the share link can view the file.
Unlisted: Only people with the direct link can access the file.
Private with access code: Protected by a unique access code that you share with intended recipients.
8. Data Retention
Your files will remain stored on SimplStorage for as long as your account is active. We do not delete files without your consent. Deleted files are permanently removed from our systems and cannot be recovered.
